Hiroshima Day
08/04/07 6:30PM - 9:30PMCommemoration of Hiroshima Day
Peace is in Our Hands
Saturday, August 4 - 6:30pm
Rockefeller Park (the pond) on Martin Luther King Blvd. and E. 105th St.
This commemoration will include: live music, Buddhist chanting, live performances by local artists, speakers, and lantern making. The ceromony will conclude by floating our lanterns on the water at the pond and having a moment of silence. This practice is a long time Buddhist tradition to remember the souls of those passed, used since the Hiroshima tragedy to also commemorate those who specifically died in this nuclear holocaust.
