When you go out shopping for food or clothes, what are your goals? Are you purposefully trying to support the exploitation of workers overseas through sweatshops and child labor? Are you intentionally condoning the actions of companies that are wreaking environmental havoc? Hopefully your answer to both of these questions is Of course not, but your shopping habits may be saying just the opposite.
The Fair Trade and Secondhand Expo is your chance to learn how to be a socially and environmentally conscious consumer. There will be a fashion show where teams will show off the Fair Trade and secondhand outfits they put together, a Fair of 20-plus Fair Trade and secondhand vendors from the Cleveland area, delicious Fair Trade and locally grown food, as well as information on how to order Fair Trade T-shirts for your student group! Been meaning to make a Goodwill run? For every item you bring to donate, you’ll get a raffle ticket to win fabulous Fair Trade prizes!
