Shop for Peace and Justice at Food Coop

07/06/10, All Day

The Food Co-op has extended “Shop for Peace and Justice” to every Tuesday this summer.

Following the success of the “Dine Out for Peace and Justice” at area restaurants, which has brought people to a restaurant on a certain day, with the restaurant contributing a percentage to three organizations -   Cleveland Peace Action, Inter-religious Task Force on Central America and Women Speak Out for Peace and Justice, the Food Co-op offers this option for members and supporters of these organizations.

The idea is simple. The three organizations promote shopping at the Food Co-op to their members and supporters, and raise funds for their important work in the community.  Tuesday purchases by everyone who declares to the cashier that they are “Shopping for Peace and Justice,” will be sending 10% of their purchases to the three organizations. Everyone wins. Promotion is increasing now to let more people know of this opportunity to support the Co-op and local Peace and Justice organizations and also to enjoy healthy, local and organic food products, bulk herbs, spices, grains, vegetarian, vegan and other special diet options, from the not-for-profit Food Co-op, in University Circle.

Every Tuesday this summer, just tell the cashier you're "SHOPPING FOR PEACE & JUSTICE"!
