McKinney served six terms in the US House of Representatives
and was the Green Party Presidential candidate in 2008. As
a fighter for human rights, she attempted to break the
Israeli blockade of Gaza aboard a flotilla ship in 2008 and
again in 2009. Cynthia was arrested by the IDF and was held
in detention in Israel and eventually deported while
providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
McKinney's latest travels have been to Libya, defending the
rights of the people and to witness U.S. intervention in
Libya's civil war.
