Staughton and Alice Lynd of Niles, Ohio are lifelong participants in movements for social change in the United States and beyond. Beginning from the roots of their Quaker faith, they have fought for racial equality, peace and the rights of workers and prisoners – and against exposure to toxic hazards and the death penalty. The Lynds’ tireless activism has inspired and motivated generations of people.
The event is a salute the Lynds and the memory of Senator Metzenbaum, and a chance to reunite with friends and fellow supporters of Ohio Citizen Action. The event will begin with a wine and dinner-by-the-bite reception at 6pm. Following the presentation of the award, the Lynds will lead a discussion entitled “Occupy Now, But What’s Next?” Tickets are $35.
