In the name of fighting terrorism, the US has tortured prisoners at Guantanamo, Abu Graib and other locations around the world. The techniques are inhuman, sometimes gruesome. Many make waterboarding seem tame.  The physical and mental effects are long lasting. This is now documented in a June 2008 report by Physicians for Human Rights: Broken Laws, Broken Lives - Medical Evidence of Torture by the US - Read report

TAKE ACTION: Sign PHR petition to fully investigate and hold accountable those who ordered torture; issue an official apology to survivors of torture in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantánamo Bay; make reparation, including compensation and medical and psycho-social services.

We've sacrificed the Constitution in order to fight terrorism but we're no safer.  It's time to restore the civil liberties that make America great.   Read Peace Action position on Constitutional Rights
